The Joffrey Ballet 2023/24 Season that includes Wheeldon, Quagebeur, McNicol and extra

Ashley Wheater MBE, The Mary B. Galvin Creative Director of The Joffrey Ballet, introduced the Joffrey’s 2023–2024 Season, that includes a Chicago debut of a full-length gothic masterpiece set within the daybreak of recent science; a combined rep program that includes a world premiere; the return of a Swedish tour de pressure; and a vacation custom boldly reimagined for a brand new era.

The Joffrey Ballet begins its 68th season with Liam Scarlett’s Chicago premiere of Frankenstein. Adopted by the return of Christopher Wheeldon’s enchanting manufacturing of The Nutcracker, and Research in Blue, an enlightening combined rep program with authentic work choreographed by Scarlett and Andrew McNicol, rounded out with a world premiere by Stina Quagebeur. Closing out the season is the return of Alexander Ekman’s otherworldly journey into Midsummer Evening’s Dream, which is much from a Shakespearean story.
